ReticulOS is in beta on Linux and Windows. This notice sets out what the beta includes, what arrives with the official release, and what that means for your plan.

Last updated 19 October 2026

The short version

  • The beta includes every feature that is finished today, on Linux and Windows.
  • Cloud backup, the browser extension, transcripts and signed Windows installers arrive with the official release.
  • Pro, Student and Founder Edition members get every new Pro feature on launch day, at no extra cost.
  • Beta software can have bugs. Export your library from time to time, and tell us what you find.

01About the beta

The beta is the current ReticulOS app for Linux (Debian and Ubuntu, as a .deb) and Windows 64-bit, free to download while we prepare the official release. New versions arrive through the app's own updates as features are finished and issues are fixed.

The beta is the real product, not a trial. The notes you save, the collections you build and the plan you hold all carry into the official release.

02What you can use today

On every plan, including Free

  • Save from any app with one shortcut, into collections.
  • Notes, links and photos, with the editor, the Reticulum workspace, the day book and the password vault.
  • Search by meaning on your computer, even offline, including finding a photo by describing it.
  • Connect Claude, Cursor and other MCP apps to your notes, with your approval for every change.
  • 25 Ret AI answers a month, with a free account.
  • Export to Markdown or JSON at any time.
  • Your library is encrypted at rest on your computer.

With Pro, Student or the Founder Edition

Everything above, plus:

  • PDFs, audio and video in your notes, searchable down to the page or the minute.
  • Recording meetings and lectures, from your microphone and your computer’s sound, straight into your notes.
  • Filling forms from your notes.
  • Answers from your own ChatGPT plan.
  • More Ret AI answers: 1,000 a month with Pro, 800 with Student, 2,500 with the Founder Edition.

Pro is $20 monthly or $200 yearly, Student is $10 monthly or $100 yearly with a school email, and the Founder Edition is $129 once for the first 100 backers. The first time you sign in, you get 14 days of Pro free, with no card. If you already subscribe at $8 monthly or $80 yearly, you keep that price while you stay subscribed. Files you have already added stay usable on every plan.

03Arriving with the official release

  • Encrypted cloud backup, for Pro, Student and the Founder Edition: a daily backup of your library that you can restore on any computer with your recovery key.
  • The ReticulOS browser extension, in the Chrome Web Store: fill web forms from your notes, and review every value before it goes into the page. For Pro, Student and the Founder Edition.
  • Transcripts of your recordings, for Pro, Student and the Founder Edition, searchable and editable like any note.
  • Signed Windows installers. Until then, Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” when you install a beta build: choose More info, then Run anyway. Only run installers you received from support@reticulos.com or reticulos.com.

We will announce the official release on this site and by email to beta testers.

04Your plan at the official release

  • Pro, Student and Founder Edition: every Pro feature on this page is included from launch day. There is nothing extra to buy: sign in with the email address on your plan, and the new features are there.
  • Founder Edition: it includes everything Pro becomes, for life, with no renewals.
  • Free: the whole notes app, search by meaning and connecting your AI apps stay free, with no time limit.
  • Your library: the official release opens the library you built during the beta. Nothing needs to be exported or imported again.

05Bugs and feedback

Beta builds are tested before we send them, but you may still run into problems. Until cloud backup arrives, we recommend exporting your library from time to time: in the widget, open the settings menu and choose Export.

To report a bug, email support@reticulos.com with what you did, what happened, and which computer and version you use. If you find a security issue, report it privately to the same address rather than posting it publicly.
